I decided not to make this comic private since there are nurse-ins being planned all over the country in response to an Applebee’s Restaurant AGAIN harassing a breastfeeding baby (and mother) The first time was in 2007 Applebee’s to Offer Blankets for Breastfeeding, this time the police were called. Nice, way to treat babies, Applebee’s.
The first was way back in 2007, and was written extensively about here: Nationwide Nurse-Ins at Applebee’s Sept. 6, 2007. I did a comic about their solution, they hoped that courtesy blankets would help. I think not.
Now, Applebee’s has done it again. Call me cynical, but I wonder that the time of year is so similar, could they be just looking to get their name in the news? Bad press is still that, press. Or do we get high-profile NIP incidents as a reaction to World Breastfeeding Week? Either way it’s the same restaurant 5 years later.

…We were having a lovely discussion too and right in the middle of World Breastfeeding Week, and then BAM! apparently Humanicum Breastfeedicus has a bit too much nipple? I’d like to posit that it’s a hand-drawn nipple, a really small nipple, a black and white nipple, a completely non-sexual nipple, an editorializing nipple, and the-nipple-is-the-whole- point-of-what-I’m-saying- nipple. But, also, damn, I remembered not to post comics with nipples at the beginning of the week and then yesterday forgot, so it’s also an I-forgot-there-was-a-nipple.
So, what I’m saying is, see you on Facebook at the end of the day, and in a little while I’ll post the Best Comic of 2008! Yippeee!!!
